A Hard Look at Prescribing: Program Co-Director Comments on New Opioid Study

This February, Program Co-Director Adriane Fugh-Berman and her colleague, Judy Butler, authored an article breaking down a new study on opioid prescribing and use disorders. According to the research, 62% of cases of opioid use disorder were among those who used the drug as prescribed.

Based on this literature, Dr. Fugh-Berman and Butler call for a closer look at prescribing practices for opioid medications. This research was conducted for PharmedOut, Dr. Fugh-Berman’s research project at the Georgetown University Medical Center. Read more in the Baltimore Sun.
